Navigating Chicago
Whether you’re flying in, riding the L, or exploring on foot, getting around Chicago during FluxxCon is a breeze. Chicago’s grid layout and extensive transit network make it one of the easiest big cities to explore. The CTA runs eight colour‑coded ‘L’ train lines and over 120 bus routes, including 24/7 Blue and Red lines to O’Hare and Midway airports. Beyond the CTA, Metra commuter trains link the suburbs to downtown. Walking is intuitive thanks to the city’s orderly grid and the five‑mile Pedway tunnel system, while taxis, rideshare apps and even scenic water taxis offer more ways to travel. For those who prefer to pedal, Divvy’s bike‑share program offers classic bikes, e‑bikes and scooters at hundreds of docking stations across the city.

November in Chicago brings crisp fall air, colorful cityscapes, and plenty of cozy spots to warm up between sessions. Average daytime temperatures range from the mid-40s to low-50s°F (7–11°C), with cooler evenings, so layers are key. We recommend packing a warm coat, sweaters or blazers, comfortable shoes for exploring, and a scarf or umbrella, just in case the famous Chicago wind makes an appearance. Whether you’re strolling along the riverwalk or heading out for dinner, you’ll be ready for whatever the Windy City brings.
