What It Means To Give On #GivingTuesday

What does it mean to give?

For such a small word, it is incredibly powerful. It’s a word we put a lot of thought into around here.

That’s why we’re thrilled to participate this year in the unifying day of giving that is #GivingTuesday – a day that unites charities, corporations, small businesses, and individuals from across the globe to show that collectively we can leave the world a better place than we found it.

A day of unity is just what we need right now.

We find ourselves more resolute than ever to support the philanthropic community’s crucial efforts in the fight to protect equality, the environment, basic human rights, and those who don’t have a voice – not only in this country, but across the world.

On November 29, our team will be working with the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy to help keep the Golden Gate National Parks coastline clean and safe. The Conservancy is the only nonprofit that supports Muir Woods, Crissy Field, Alcatraz, The Marin Headlands, Stinson Beach, Lands End, The Presidio, and 30 more beloved national park sites in our neck of the woods.

#GivingTuesday represents a renewed dedication to leaving the world better than we found it. It also marks the kick off of our brand new ongoing employee volunteer program which makes giving back easier than ever.

Our participation in #GivingTuesday is a humble hat tip to, and show of unity with, the change-makers on the front lines, those who dedicate their lives to confronting injustice day in and day out. You inspire us everyday to deepen our commitment.

We are committed to empowering everyone in the sector until the need for philanthropy no longer remains. Until that day, we will keep finding new ways to make giving easier and even more powerful.
